OUR PUPILS

We are very keen to develop children’s leadership roles at Homer First and we encourage their involvement in decision making and running areas of the school.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Sixteen pupils, from all year groups, represent their classes on the Homer First School Council. The council promotes Pupil Voice in the issues that affect school life and gives all Homer First pupils the opportunity to have their views heard. School Council representatives are elected by their peers and hold office for the academic year; keeping minutes, chairing class council meetings and giving feedback.

PLAYGROUND

Homer First has a team of Playground friends, from Year 4, who promote positive playtimes. Visible in their yellow hats, Playground friends assist Lunchtime Supervisors at lunchtimes. They look out for vulnerable pupils in the playground and encourage them to join in games or offer them a listening ear. They are highly respected and valued members of the school community.
