Windsor Schools Orienteering Competition

Opal Class were chosen to represent Homer at the Windsor Schools Sports Partnership Orienteering competition.  We walked to Dedworth Middle School (thankfully the rain stopped!) and met up with teams from 4 other schools. We took part in two long orienteering games where we had to run around the field to different points reading a map we had been given.  We ran and ran and ran all afternoon - it was exhausting but we loved it!

We had 6 teams, one of our teams came third overall, out of about 25 teams in total.  We had to learn about map reading, plotting a course, working together as a team and running fast!   We had fun in the sun and everyone worked well together.

Welcome to Opal Class!

Mrs Tickle

I am the Opal Class Year 3 teacher. I have worked at Homer for 16 years since my daughters came here (they are now 20 and 22!) I like helping children to read and write and I love history and finding out about how people used to live in the past. When I am not in school I love music: listening to it, playing the piano and being part of a fun singing club. I also help in my local church. I enjoy being with my family at home and going for walks. I am very much looking forward to getting to know you in September and making it the best year yet at Homer!

Mrs George

I am one of the two TAs in Opal Class.  I already know most of this class but I am excited to be in Year 3 and seeing what we will be learning about.

Mrs Cooper

I am also a TA in Opal Class. I am looking forward to getting to know you and sharing in an exciting year with you all. I am sure we will have many adventures ahead.
