Year 1 - Garnet

Welcome to Garnet's Class page

Welcome to Garnet class page. Class teacher and teaching assistant for Garnet class are Miss Noon and Mrs Allaway. We will update this page with some of the activities and special events that we will celebrate throughout the year.

Miss Noon

I have been at Homer First School since I started teaching and couldn't imagine myself anywhere else! I love being a part of such a friendly and community orientated school.

My hobbies outside of school are spending time with my daughter on the weekends and going to the gym.

Mrs Allaway

I've been at Homer First School for 10 years now and used to also attend myself as a child. I've worked across all key stages in the classroom and in ELSA sessions. I really enjoy supporting the children in all aspects of their learning as well as working alongside Miss Noon. In my spare time I enjoy long walks with my family and children, going for days out and going on holiday.

Halloween fun! We have had a great week celebrating Halloween. We hope you have a scarily fun half term!

14.10.2024

In Geography, we have been learning about the local area and our school. We have been using maps to identify key features in the local area. Today, we worked in pairs to create a map of the school grounds using what we had learnt in class. We used a key to help us identify key features like the benches, buildings and grass.

8.10.2024

We have had a fun afternoon making smoothies! Before we could make them we needed to plan what we wanted to have in them. We had a class vote and bananas and strawberries gathered the most votes. We had so much fun cutting and juicing the fruits and then finally making them into a yummy smoothie.
