Sports Leaders

Welcome to the Sports Leaders page at Homer First School and Nursery.

Our 10 Year 4 Sports Leaders are a fantastic group of pupils who help to promote active, healthy lifestyles across our school. They enjoy sport, teamwork and helping others, and they play an important role in supporting physical activity for younger children.

The Sports Leaders work closely with staff to organise fun activities and encourage everyone to get involved. You will often see them helping at playtimes, supporting PE lessons and encouraging others to develop their sporting skills.

🏅 Our Sports Leaders Pledge

Active bodies, active minds,

Helping others of all kinds.

Leading games with fairness and care,

Encouraging everyone to join and share.

Trying our best in all we do,

Supporting our school the whole year through.

Active Play

Our Sports Leaders are working on creating Playground Activity Zones.

They are planning different areas on the playground where children can take part in organised games and activities at playtime. These might include skipping challenges, mini ball games, balance activities and teamwork games.

The Sports Leaders will help to run these activities and show other children how to take part so that everyone has the chance to be active, learn new skills and enjoy playtime together.
